Bibimbap with Bean Sprout Guk
Bibimbap with Bean Sprout Guk
Class Description
Bibimbap, cooked rice topped with a variety of prepared ingredients, may be the most iconic rice dish of Korea. For this class, we will be making a traditional bibimbap featuring a colorful array of delicious vegetables, marinated beef and fried egg. Once topped with a stir-fried gochujang sauce, the ingredients are thoroughly mixed and enjoyed. "Bibim" means to mix and "Bap" is rice in Korean. We will also be making a simple soup, bean sprout guk, typically served alongside. Instructor for this class is David Lynn Drzick, who in addition to being webmaster behind Pacific Rim Foods, Cravings and Cravings Corners, is also the owner of Ruby 'Que Catering and 3rd Place Winner of the Confucius Institute Master Chef Competition. He has recently traveled to South Korea and has been to China numerous times in the pursuit of authentic dishes for his family, friends and social gatherings.
